So with all of the inspectors and appraisers and whatnot through my house in the last few days I've begun to feel judged. So much that I had a dream a couple nights ago that an inspector came to the house and went immediately to the fridge to write citations that I wasn't properly storing my perishable goods. Perhaps I'm having Tupperware lady guilt that my veggies aren't stored in FridgeSmart containers?

I'm waiting for the fight. You know the fight I'm talking about. Revision: If you are married you know the fight I'm talking about. I'm talking about the mid-move fight. I'm just waiting for Martin & I to blow up in each others faces about some ridiculous box or they way the other has packed the baby clothes or why on earth we are moving in the first place. Moving is frustrating and maddening and ridiculous. Today I looked at our big tv and thought, "I wonder if our buyers would like us to leave this. . ." And then I played out a fantasy in my head where everyone who buys a house gets everything in it and no one has to ever pack again. It was a good fantasy. And I'm sure that in about two weeks it will seem like the greatest idea anyone ever had.

We made ice cream in a coffee can yesterday. Actually you need two coffee cans -- one big and one small. Put your ice cream fixins in the small one then put it in the big one with ice and salt. Roll it around for 20 minutes and voila! It was really good. I've made ice cream before, each time trying to be a gourmet of some sort and going with the fancy recipes and I was never satisfied. This recipe read like a Breyer's commercial . . . milk, cream, sugar, vanilla. Mmmmm. Simple is good.

Have you missed me? It's been nothing short of crazy around here. We're making some big changes. First, we've sold the house. Second, we're moving to Kansas City. This is a one to two year plan that involves a bit of rest and a lot of family and some trips back to LA for work. The house sold in four days, culminating in a bidding war. For all of the ridiculous decisions we've made in the last several years, buying and selling this house will not be one of them. It is all good.
I'm not looking forward to packing the kitchen.
At all.
Moving dates are unknown right now but it's likely we'll be in KC by early June. I can't wait for my first Yello Sub.

Have you missed me? The motivation to sit down and blog has disappeared. Check out what my cherished friend has been up to. Tomorrow is her birthday. She's all the way across the country. I miss her.
My friend Sam (there's no link. . .hmmmm. Sam, please start blogging) just got a Kitchenaid Mixer. I'm so happy for him. He's asked for recipes. I think I'll pass along my grandma's oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe -- well, my slight variation. I've been told they're pretty good.
